FLA proudly supports Autism Awareness month this April.

Future Leaders Academy (FLA) is excited to announce a collaboration with Autism Cook Islands (ACI) during our April leadership course in Rarotonga. This initiative provides FLA students with a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills while contributing to the local community. Working alongside autistic children is just one component of a comprehensive week of leadership activities, allowing students to experience hands-on learning in empathy, teamwork, and adaptability.
Autism Cook Islands is a registered incorporated society that began as a small support network for families raising children with autism. Today, it has grown into a vital organisation supporting over 30 families, providing essential resources, early intervention programmes, and advocacy for greater inclusion.
Their mission aligns with FLA’s commitment to leadership, personal growth, and community impact.
During their time in Rarotonga, FLA students will engage in various leadership activities, including assisting in educational sessions and recreational activities with ACI members. These experiences will challenge students to think critically, collaborate effectively, and embrace diverse perspectives—skills that will serve them well in future leadership roles.
This collaboration highlights the power of leadership beyond personal achievement—demonstrating how young leaders can drive positive change and foster inclusive communities. Through this experience, students will not only grow as leaders but also leave a lasting impact on those they support.
By working together, FLA and ACI are helping to create a future that values inclusion, diversity, and leadership in action.
